The City is the 'Wall Street' of London, and also has St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London. In this square mile you are likely to see young and not so young professional men and women heading for the gym or a healthy lunch, as fitness clubs and multicultural food continue to expand and thrive in London.

From noon till 2pm there's a feeding frenzy in take-away specialists such as Futures!, Fresh & Wild and Pure, or treat yourself to a sit-down lunch at The Greenery or The Place Below.

For an altogether more relaxing experience on the quieter City fringes, Rye Wholefoods has a peaceful cafd within their shop, whilst Antimony Balance has added a juice bar in theirs.

Although St Paul's is free on Sundays during church services and the district is pleasantly uncongested, be forewarned that all the vegetarian restaurants are closed.
