The Draycott Hotel is a five-star town house
hotel situated in Brompton, off Sloane Square, near London's popular
areas of Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Kensington, not far from
Victoria rail, bus, coach and Underground station. Within easy
reach of places like the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National
History Museum, this hotel is a popular choice with business people
visiting events like London Fashion Week.
Behind the majestic yet perhaps somewhat
understated townhouse front in a quiet green location, hides a
picturesque mature doll-house, mixing Edwardian interior with
Victorian adornments, providing a warm, intimate and homely ambiance
where the routine in the downstairs drawing room includes
complimentary servings of tea and biscuits in the afternoon,
champagne in the evening, and hot chocolate at night.
With only 35 guest rooms, this hotel is
considered to be reasonably small to London standards, but this only
adds to its charm and warmth, as guests tend to receive a more
personal and personable service than may be expected from its larger
contemporaries. Each room is decorated individually to a specific
theatrical theme, and rooms range from small single rooms with
wood-panelled bunk beds, to spacious suites with bespoke extra-large
beds and windows overlooking the private cherry tree garden at the
back of the hotel.
Although the appearance of every room is
classic, modern comforts have not been forgotten. All rooms benefit
from individual gas fireplaces, air-conditioning, satellite TV, CD
music system and free-of-charge WiFi; the same applies to the two
in-house meeting rooms. The Draycott does not have a formal restaurant,
but services provided include room service, concierge service,
breakfast room, chauffeur service and airport transfers, all of
which are available 24 hours a day.
